Overview
Nearly 1 in 3 people will provide care for a spouse, parent, family member, or friend who is chronically ill or has disabilities. The demands of caregiving can take a toll on the caregiver. Caregivers may neglect to take care of themselves by skipping exercise, not going to the doctor, or missing opportunities to relieve stress.
Caregivers, who offer so much help to others, need support too. Powerful Tools for Caregivers gives you the skills to take care of yourself while caring for someone else. By taking care of your own health and well-being, you become a better caregiver.
There will be six (6) virtual 90-minute Zoom sessions held once a week led by experienced, certified class leaders. Sessions will be on Monday evenings November 7 thru December 12, 2022, from 6-7:30 pm. Class participants are given The Caregiver Helpbook to accompany the class and provided additional caregiver resources. The tools and lessons of this course are proven to help:
- Reduce stress
- Improve self-confidence
- Manage time, set goals, and solve problems
- Better communicate your feelings
- Make tough decisions
- Locate helpful resources
