Overview

What role can art and creativity play in later life? How can we expand opportunities for older adults to engage with art, and who can we look to for inspiration? Join colleagues from museums, arts centers, aging-services organizations, and senior residences for a day of discussion and exploration of how engaging with art can foster learning, creativity, and meaningful social connections for older adults and across generations. Speakers include Kay Sibetta, AARP Georgia; Dr. Ali John Zarrabi, Emory Healthcare; Pearl Cleage, Distinguished Artist in Residence at the Alliance Theater, as well as museum colleagues from the High Museum of Art, Speed Art Museum, and Frye Art Museum, among others.

The Convening on Arts and Aging is intended for colleagues working in arts settings or for people who work with older adults through community-based organizations and senior residences. Registration is $95 and includes a full day program followed by a reception. Registrants may pre-purchase parking in the Woodruff Arts Center parking garage with registration. Limited scholarships available.
