Empowerline has launched a new partnership with Trualta to help family caregivers learn new skills to support themselves and their loved ones. Trualta’s free online educational tool helps caregivers learn about health issues, care techniques, and managing care for loved ones safely and confidently at home.
Anyone caring for an older person or individual with intellectual or developmental disabilities will benefit from Trualta’s support, whether they are seeking personal care training, safety and fall prevention tips, help caring for a person with dementia, caregiver wellness ideas, or other support. The modules on the Atlanta Regional Commission Empowerline portal will teach caregivers how to safely provide hands-on care, connect families with reliable support agencies, and offer information and video training from experienced professionals in a quick and easy format. For low-vision users or for caregivers who prefer audio instructions, Trualta also offers a “read to me” function. Content is available in both English and Spanish.
Family caregivers across the Atlanta metro area, including Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, Fayette, Gwinnett, Henry, and Rockdale counties, can self-register for the portal by visiting https://empowerline.trualta.com.
“We are proud to partner with the Atlanta Regional Commission to help family caregivers feel confident and keep loved ones at home longer,” said Jonathan Davis, Founder and CEO, Trualta. “Family caregivers provide 80% or more of care for loved ones, and we anticipate that will continue to rise.”
Trualta supports families managing care for loved ones at home via an online learning platform. In partnership with innovative healthcare payers and providers, as well as social service organizations, Trualta supports better care at lower cost. Each partner organization is equipped with a customized and co-branded learning portal through which healthcare professionals can deliver an innovative and skills-based training session to help caregivers better care for their aging loved ones.
Trualta’s program includes an online learning management system that is accessible via desktop, tablet, or smartphone with companion print material, personalized for each family’s care situation. Topics include personal care, safety and injury prevention, cognitive decline and brain health, and caregiver wellness. Trualta is engaging in research partnerships and clinical validation trials with leading health organizations to demonstrate that capable and confident caregivers do lead to improved patient outcomes.
